TIPHYS Workshop

TIPHYS Workshop: Presentation of MOOC and VR Platform and of learning results

14 July 2020

University of Ioannina, Greece

The Laboratory of Knowledge & Intelligent Computing (KIC-Lab) of the University of Ioannina organized on Tuesday 14 July 2020, online workshop for the intellectual outputs of the project TIPHYS 4.0, - Social Network based doctoral Education on Industry 4.0 (www.tiphys.eu), co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme.

In compliance with the health restrictions imposed due to COVID-19, the event was broadcast live on the internet and those interested had the opportunity to participate without physical presence.

The Director of the Laboratory, Prof. Chrysostomos Stylios, presented the results of the project, emphasizing the importance of Virtual Reality in online education and in creating a networking and collaborative platform between PhD candidates and professors from different European Universities, as well as highlighted the basic characteristics of Virtual Reality, which is a key pillar of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Ms. Vasiliki Liagou, Assistant Professor, presented the methodological approach for a common training framework between different institutions, utilizing the online training platform as well as the application of virtual reality for computer security training, implemented within the project.

Prof. Goran Putnik presented the implementation of the co-creation of learning material, utilising a model that provides to teachers a framework for redefinition of the actual practices in education for Design, and continuous alignment with students needs and requests for continuous updating of the actual learning material. The presentation of Vladimir Modrak and Zuzana Soltysova from Technical University of Kosice, regarding the development of final tool and additional content in co-creation, was presented by Prof. Stylios.
