Over 100 participants and 24 speakers joined our Final Conference, organized in the frame of ASSETs+ project by our partners Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini and Censec, at La Chaufferie, Brussels, November 28, 2023.
During the presentations and panels, the challenges of preparing and developing, upskilling and reskilling staff for the European defence industry were discussed.
During the panel discussion on “Human capital: recruiting and retaining in defence” we were looking for answers to questions about how has the landscape of recruitment in defence evolved over the past decade, why it is so difficult to attract young people to the defence industry and how can this be changed, how is the defence sector preparing for the future workforce, considering factors like automation, AI, and remote work, how are technological advancements influencing the recruitment process in defence, what are the unique challenges of recruiting and retaining talent in the defence sector compared to other industries, how we can foster a culture of continuous learning and development within defence organisations.
