On May 26, 2023, the 13th International LLA Conference on “Current industry challenges and available technological solutions” was held at the Rzeszów University of Technology
The conference was opened by Dorota Stadnicka, Head of Lean Learning Academy Polska and President of the Scientific Commitee. Then Jarosław Sęp, Vice-Rector for Development and Business Cooperation, First Deputy Rector of Rzeszów University of Technology welcomed the guests.

The first presentation was given by Carl Hans from the German company OHS Engineering GmbH, who in his speech reviewed the current industry challenges related to the implementation of digitization in industry and modern technologies. These challenges includes:
- the need to make significant initial investments related to the implementation of digitization,
- the need to involve external expects with the competences required during the digitalization implementation,
- the need to modernize the technical infrastructure so that it can be part of the cyber-physical system,
- reluctance of employees to digitalization,
- the emergence of new professions and the need to create new jobs,
- insufficient competences in the field of soft skills among company employees.
The information presented relates to the research carried out as part of the Planet4 project.

In the next presentation, Chandima Ratnayake from University of Stavanger (Norway) presented issues related to the use of additive technologies for the production of spare parts in the circular economy supply chain. During his speech, he discussed, among others, the closed-loop product development process with iterations based on life cycle assessment.
In the next speech, Saul Delabrida from Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto (Brazil) presented, among others, how augmented reality technologies are being developed for industry and how wearable devices can support the work of employees.

Next presentation was given by Lorena González from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain). She discussed aspects of cybersecurity from a managerial point of view. She presented, among others, the issues of monitoring employees' network behavior, device configurations, enforcing internal rules of enterprises and managing data access control.
In the next speech, Andrea Bonci from Polytechnic University of Marche (Italy) presented an approach to managing employee efficiency using an OLE indicator (eng. Overall Labour Effectiveness).

The next four presentations were related to the EDURES project and were presented by representatives of Rzeszów University of Technology. First, Roman Wdowik discussed the importance of using the results of scientific research in the process of preparing employees for the industry, presented the concept behind the EDURES project and summarized the results of the project. Then, Przemysław Podulka presented the possibilities of taking into account the results of scientific research in the process of educating students. Next, Paweł Litwin discussed how to strengthen scientific cooperation between university employees, students and industry employees. Finally, Marek Magdziak summarized open e-learning courses in the field of technology.

Then, Grzegorz Dec, also from Rzeszów University of Technology, presented the results of the review of ICT tools supporting remote cooperation. The presented research results are the results of the TET project.

In the final part of the conference, Dorota Stadnicka presented how, through the European Defense Challenge, European companies in the defence industry are looking for young talents. She summarized the 3rd edition of the challenge, which was organized by Rzeszów University of Technology and presented the topic of the 4th edition, to which students can submit their works until June 7, 2023. The competition is carried out as part of the ASSETs+ project, and the topic of the new edition is “Leading through Complexity: Effective Management in Defence Environment”.

After the presentation, two students of the Rzeszów University of Technology, Abigail Machaj and Alicja Siekanowicz, who received the Young Student Award in the last edition of the European Defence Challenge, presented their work entitled "Securing messages using heat".

The participants of the conference were employees of enterprises and universities as well as students from Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Lithuania, Italy, Brazil, Spain, Germany, Norway, Estonia and Portugal.

At the conclusion of the conference, Katarzyna Antosz, president of the Conference Organizing Committee, together with Ewelina Wyczewska, handed out prizes to the participants of the Conference.
