About Path-AI Project

The PATH-AI initiative is set to harness the transformative power and related benefit of Generative AI in HE, with focus on acceptable use and responsible integration. This project aims to develop a comprehensive framework including policy development, education and training and ongoing ethical review. The ultimate goal is to enhance educational quality, engagement, and alignment with future workforce needs, while also addressing the challenges and principles highlighted in literature.

Activities

  1. Definition of Responsible and Acceptable AI Integration Framework in HE: focus on policy, collaboration, benefits and challenges.
  2. Educational units (Ed. units) development and integration in engineering curricula: based on curricular gaps, emphasizing integrity and privacy, including pilot testing.
  3. Micro-credentials (MC) development: supporting EU policy for Lifelong Learning and Employability
  4. Expansion: post-project collaboration, joint degrees and industry partnerships.

Impact

The main outcome of the initiative will be a series of up-to-date Ed. Units integrating Gen AI into engineering education, aligned with constructivist theory of learning and blended strategies, enhancing learning outcomes and engagement. Other outcomes: (1) an open access research diary, (2) guidelines for responsible integration of AI in HE, (3) engineering profiles description including relevant and updated skills, (4) micro-credentials, (5) training activities, (6) multiplier events.
